Campus Center, Weis Cinema
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
Set in Fascist Italy between the world wars, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio probes the familiar children's tale for its messages about grief, death, and transformation. After the titular wooden puppet is brought to life, it (he?) must learn to understand and relate not only with his maker Geppetto but with a host of other humans, each with their own designs and intentions for Pinocchio. The film uses a combination of stop-motion and digital animation, and the voice cast includes Gregory Mann as Pinocchio, David Bradley as Geppetto, and Ewan McGregor as Sebastian J. Cricket, with supporting roles by Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, and Christoph Waltz. Runtime 117 minutes. (Wikipedia)7:00 pm – 9:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
