Antigone is a 2019 Canadian drama, directed by Sophie Deraspe and adapted from the ancient Greek tragedy by Sophocles. Set in contemporary Montreal, the film reimagines the classic story through the lens of a young woman navigating the struggles of an immigrant family. Nahéma Ricci stars in the title role alongside Rawad El-Zein, Hakim Brahimi, Rachida Oussaada, and Nour Belkhiria. Antigone won the Toronto International Film Festival Award for Best Canadian Film and was selected as Canada's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. Runtime 109 mins.
