Bard Equestrian Club
Bard Equestrian Club is a friendly and inclusive community for students who love horseback riding—or are simply curious about equestrian life. Beginning this semester, the club will offer two main tracks: * Competition Team – For riders with previous training experience. Selected members will represent Bard in Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) competitions. Team size and placement will be determined by riding level. * Recreational Track – For students with less or no experience who would like to begin lessons or join stable visits and events. Lessons will be held at Southlands Foundation in Rhinebeck at a discounted rate, helping to make horseback riding more accessible to students of all backgrounds. Since equestrian sports are often expensive and difficult to access, our goal is to provide affordable lessons and hands-on stable experience for anyone interested. Both experienced riders and a beginner are welcome.Bard Cavaliers, Bard’s group of horse riders and lovers, is a vibrant campus organization two years in the making. The group arranges riding lessons, hosts events on campus, and participates in shows at Southlands Foundation in Rhinebeck at a discounted rate. Because the high cost of equestrian sports often makes them inaccessible to interested students with little experience or financial flexibility, our goal is to provide lessons and stable experience for those who would not typically be able to afford them.
