Mock Trial
Bard Mock Trial is a newly formed AMTA divisional group representing Bard College in the 2009-2010 American Mock Trial Association tournament for college mock trial teams. Students enact simulated trials and compete against other schools while learning about the processes of the American legal system. This activity is ideal for Pre-law students, individuals interested in the American justice system, acting majors, and anyone looking for a fun and educationally stimulating experience. We are currently looking for members to participate as student lawyers, witnesses, and research assistants for the team. Witnesses and lawyers engage in direct competition at meets against other colleges, and these positions are limited to 8-10 members. All students not selected as trial lawyers or witnesses are still encouraged to join mock trial as either alternate witnesses, practice lawyers, or for research. Students will be chosen for roles based on dedication, seniority, background experience, interest in law, and overall performance quality.
